What’s in a doc’s name?


I have heard of several appropriate doctor names in the past. Like Dr.Vyawhare, the psychiatrist. Or Dr.Kaanfade, the ENT. And even Dr.Andhare, the opthal.

But this one is something special.

I have a complete list of these which was circulated when I was in Medical School. We have heard of Potdukhe, Doiphode etc, but my all time favorite is a Gynecologist named Parkarvarkar (Parkar in Marathi means petticoat, and var-kar means lift ie ‘lift your skirt’!)

I remember a Dr.Manusmare as well. (Manus=manushya/ human).
